Ukraine ratifies an agreement with Britain: £2 billion will be allocated for air defense systems and repair facilities.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will submit a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada for the ratification of the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The agreement aims to enhance the defense capabilities of both countries.

According to RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"Under this agreement, the United Kingdom will provide us with up to £2 billion for the purchase of air defense systems, missiles for air defense, as well as for the establishment of repair bases for military equipment and other armaments," Shmyhal explained.

He noted that such bases will also be located in Ukraine. Additionally, the allocated funds will significantly strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

"We are grateful to the Government and people of the United Kingdom for their support on our path to victory," the Prime Minister said.

Centennial Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom

Recently, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a 100-year partnership agreement. The agreement will remain in effect for the next 100 years unless either party wishes to withdraw from it.

After the signing, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the transfer of 150 artillery barrels and a mobile air defense system, Gravehawk, to Ukraine. He also stated that in 2025, the UK would provide more military assistance to Ukraine "than ever before."

It is worth noting that two prototypes of the Gravehawk have already been tested in Ukraine.
