The Hungarian Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, commented on Moscow's statement that on January 11, a compressor station in the Krasnodar region, which supplies gas through the "Turkish Stream" pipeline, was targeted by Ukrainian drones.

“Energy supply security is a matter of sovereignty, so any actions that threaten the security of our energy supply must be seen as encroachments on sovereignty,” Szijjarto wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the "Turkish Stream" is “essential for Hungary's and Central Europe's gas supply.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that on January 11, allegedly 9 Ukrainian drones struck the “Russian” compressor station in the Krasnodar region.

As a result of the attack, the station's building and equipment sustained minor damage, and the station continues to operate normally, the statement indicated.

The Ukrainian side has not commented on this statement.

As of January 1, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine has been halted. Now, gas can only be exported to Europe from Russia via Turkey.
