Residents of Kharkiv have observed a conflict between a civilian and a group of military personnel that occurred in a recreational area of the regional center. The Kharkiv Regional Recruitment Center explained that the individual in the video was intoxicated and had used pepper spray against the military officials. The details of the incident were written about by the department's press service on their Facebook page.

Incident with the Recruitment Center — What Happened in Kharkiv

The Kharkiv Regional Military Commissariat issued a statement on the morning of January 20. It confirmed that a conflict did indeed occur in the regional center, involving a civilian, Recruitment Center staff, and police officers. The agency is prepared to provide investigators with all the details to clarify the actual course of events.

It was revealed that the military officials and law enforcement were jointly patrolling and conducting mobilization notification activities, according to the report. At one point, the group decided to check the military registration documents of a random passerby. The man was not in order with his documents, he was intoxicated and began to flee, spraying pepper spray. After a brief chase, he was apprehended again, and another attempt was made to check his documents. At that moment, the civilian sprayed the pepper spray again, then fell to the ground and began to feign that he had been thrown there, as asserted by the Kharkiv Military Commissariat. The notification group took certain measures to stop the man's actions.

"The citizen began to shout loudly, fell onto the sidewalk, pretending to be attacked, and after this performance, fled the scene. Thus, the conflict situation was caused by the unlawful actions of the very civilian stopped by the notification group," — explained representatives of the military commissariat.

As a result, the Kharkiv Regional Recruitment Center urged people to verify the information they see on social media.

What Happened in Kharkiv — Details of the Incident with the Recruitment Center

Video footage of the conflict with the Recruitment Center appeared on a Telegram channel dedicated to evading mobilization. Around 4 PM on January 19, it was published on the "Trukha Kharkiv" channel. It is noted that the event occurred near the "Buchma source." The video shows a scuffle involving at least one civilian and about three individuals in military uniforms. An unknown woman recording the video can be heard claiming that one of the participants in the incident is intoxicated.

"They are drunk from yesterday, barely standing on their feet," — says a female voice.

Meanwhile, words can be heard from one of the men.

"They are just dying there, you understand," — a likely drunken voice is audible.

It is worth noting that a series of videos of the scuffle, filmed from different angles, has been published online. It is impossible to determine whether all the videos pertain to the same incident, when the recordings were made, and what happened before and after the moments shared online.

Additionally, on January 14, the Kharkiv police reported an incident during which two men attacked a minibus belonging to the recruitment center. The men were armed with an axe, knife, and pistol. One of the attackers was apprehended, while the other escaped, according to law enforcement officials.

As a reminder, on January 20, a lawyer explained how recruitment officials should behave and what the procedure is for detaining citizens who have been wanted due to violations of military registration during mobilization.
