A new category of wealth has emerged—super billionaires, with Elon Musk topping the list, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The American publication The Wall Street Journal has released its ranking of super billionaires – individuals whose fortunes exceed $50 billion, and there are only 24 of them worldwide.

The combined wealth of this group totals $3.3 trillion – equivalent to the GDP of France. Among them, 16 individuals possess over $100 billion, making them centibillionaires.

Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX and the "right-hand" man of Trump, tops the list of super billionaires with a fortune of $419.4 billion.

In second place is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $263.8 billion.

Third place goes to Bernard Arnault, owner of luxury giant Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, with $238.9 billion.

The top five also includes Oracle's Larry Ellison ($237 billion) and Facebook and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg ($220.8 billion).

Only three out of the 24 super billionaires are women.

The publication notes that in the 19th century and early 20th century, the wealthiest individuals were industrialists. Today, most super billionaires have earned their fortunes in the technology sector.

In 2024, nearly four new billionaires emerged globally each week.
