Members of parliament from various factions have registered a resolution for the dismissal of Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

According to reported by MP from "European Solidarity" Oleksiy Honcharenko.

He stated that among the reasons for registering the resolution are "systemic corruption in the energy sector" and the minister's disregard for calls to attend parliamentary sessions and committee meetings.

MP Inna Sovsun wrote on Facebook that she was the one who registered the resolution for Halushchenko's dismissal. She also recounted their exchange in parliament on January 10.

Sovsun claimed that Prime Minister Shmyhal announced that the completion of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant was agreed upon with partners from the USA. She mentioned that she corrected him, as they, as members of the energy committee, "received messages from the European Commission delegation and the US embassy in Ukraine, who are concerned that information is appearing in the public domain suggesting they officially support the completion of the KhNPP."

"In reality, there is no support from the partners, and they would like to avoid such manipulations in the future," the MP asserted.

Previously, the media also reported that the conflict between Sovsun and Halushchenko arose over the completion of the third and fourth power units of the Khmelnytskyi NPP.

The minister criticized Sovsun, accusing her of creating a negative impression of Ukraine's energy policy abroad. "Inna, I am very sorry that you run around embassies and slander our energy sector and our state," Halushchenko stated.

The information about the conflict in parliament was commented on in Telegram by Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"My colleague and member of the energy committee Inna Sovsun asked the government who among the international partners supports the 'great nuclear construction.' And that she has letters from committee members stating that the partners do not support it and are surprised that their name is being used. To which Halushchenko began to respond that 'Inna runs around embassies and complains,'” emphasized the MP.
