Leaders from the UK, Germany, Poland, Italy, and Denmark, along with the leadership of the EU and NATO, have been invited to the security summit.
Во Франции подтвердили, что срочно проведут саммит европейских лидеров после заявлений США в Мюнхене.

The French government has confirmed that a summit on European security will take place on Monday, the day after the Munich conference.

“Tomorrow, President [Emmanuel Macron] will gather key European countries to discuss European security,” stated French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in an interview with France Inter radio.

He urged not to “dramatize” the need for such a meeting.

According to Reuters, leaders from the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Italy, Denmark, EU leadership, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte have been invited.

The agency describes the urgent preparation for the summit as an attempt to “substantively respond to Trump’s approach to the [Russian-Ukrainian] conflict,” which does not involve Europe in the peace negotiations.

Reuters also outlines the sentiments of European officials following the conclusion of the Munich Security Conference.

According to agency sources, many summit participants “were shocked and taken aback” by the actions of the Trump administration regarding Ukraine and European security.

“Their main fear: they can no longer be certain of military protection from the U.S., and they are also concerned that Trump may strike a peace deal with Putin regarding Ukraine that undermines Kyiv's position and the security of all of Europe,” writes Reuters.

Background. Recall that Olaf Scholz sharply criticized Vance and mocked the absence of the topic of the war in Ukraine in his speech. It was expected that Vance would discuss potential negotiations, but the U.S. Vice President hardly mentioned Russia or Ukraine in his address.

As reported, J.D. Vance criticized Romania in Munich for canceling the election results in which a pro-Russian candidate won. He stated that “the threat comes not from Russia or China, but from within Europe itself,” which does not respect freedom of speech.
