On Saturday, February 15, new details emerged regarding the incident in Mykolaiv. According to information from the Mine Action Center, three servicemen lost their lives as a result of an explosion near a dining establishment.
It has been reported that the victims of the terrorist attack were three employees of the Mine Action Center — Vadim Eliseev, Elena Klyuchnikova, and Yevgeny Syryk.
"With deep sorrow and pain in our hearts, we announce the tragic deaths of three servicemen from the Mine Action Center, who gave their lives while fulfilling their military duty to the Motherland. As a result of this brutal terrorist act, Ukraine has lost courageous warriors and loyal defenders of its land," the statement reads.
Let us remind you that on February 14, an explosion occurred near one of the cafes in Mykolaiv. Preliminary reports indicated two fatalities and eight others injured. Additionally, footage surfaced online showing the last moments before the explosion and the moment itself. It was evident that a group of men in military uniforms was near the epicenter of the blast.
The explosion was allegedly carried out by a woman who reportedly arrived in Mykolaiv from the Poltava region. Russian social media outlets suggested that by committing the terrorist act, she aimed to take revenge on the military recruitment officers for her son's mobilization. However, this information was denied by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council. It was revealed that the perpetrator had two sons born in 2001 and 2011, and the older son is not a serviceman.
The Security Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv reported that as of February 15, the investigation under part 3 of Article 258 "Terrorist Act" is ongoing.
