The court has extended the preventive measure for the suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion.

Vyacheslav Zinchenko will remain in custody until March 4.

On January 3, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv extended the preventive measure for the accused of the intentional murder of Iryna Farion, Vyacheslav Zinchenko. He will remain in custody without the right to bail for another 60 days – until March 4 inclusive.

This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office stated that the indictment has been sent to court. Vyacheslav Zinchenko is charged with the intentional murder of a person in connection with the performance of their public duty motivated by national intolerance, as well as the acquisition, carrying, and storage of firearms without the legally required permit (paragraphs 8, 14 of part 2 of Article 115, part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment.

Recall that on July 19, 2024, former MP Iryna Farion was shot in the head. The suspect in Farion's murder was apprehended on July 25. He turned out to be Vyacheslav Zinchenko. The man was detained in Dnipro at his place of residence and has been in custody since then.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the suspect in Farion's murder was given a preventive measure – arrest without the right to bail. Zinchenko may have been planning the murders of other well-known Ukrainians, including Max Buzhansky, according to the police.
