Стармер рекомендовал Зеленскому возобновить диалог с Трампом и договоренности с США, сообщает FT.

The Prime Minister of Britain, Keir Starmer, advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to establish a dialogue with American leader Donald Trump following their disagreement at the White House.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Financial Times.

As noted by the publication, on the evening of Saturday, March 1, after meeting with Zelensky, the British Prime Minister called Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron to update them on the latest developments. British officials stated that the discussions were "focused on moving forward."

According to one of Starmer's allies, the Prime Minister will convey to European leaders at the summit on March 2 that "only one negotiation is taking place - and that is Trump’s negotiation."

Another source mentioned that Starmer will tell European leaders that they need to back their verbal support for Zelensky with actions: "Ukraine currently needs weapons and oil. It does not need people who are tweeting and virtue-signaling."

According to FT sources, Starmer urged Trump and Zelensky to finalize the mineral agreement after the conflict in the Oval Office on Friday.

British officials reported that during the Saturday meeting, Starmer told Zelensky that he must first establish relations with Trump and that any peace will not last long if it is not guaranteed by the U.S.

"The Prime Minister's priority is to do everything possible to protect Ukraine. This means that the U.S. must be involved. You need to build these relationships and return to the mineral extraction agreement," stated one of Starmer's associates.

Dispute Between Zelensky and Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Washington on February 28, where he met with President Donald Trump.

During their conversation at the White House, a dispute arose between Zelensky, Trump, and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, concerning the war in Ukraine.

Later, Volodymyr Zelensky left the White House early, after which Trump accused the Ukrainian president of being allegedly unprepared for peace.

After the U.S., Zelensky traveled to London. He met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Today, March 2, a summit on Ukraine will take place in London.
