The United States of America plans to submit its own resolution to the UN regarding the cessation of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

This was reported by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The document will be presented to the UN on February 24, marking the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The U.S. has urged member states to support the resolution and "commit to ending the war."

"Despite the challenges, a sustainable peace remains achievable. By supporting this resolution, we affirm that this conflict is horrific and that the UN can help bring it to an end," stated the Secretary of State in his announcement.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that the U.S. might abandon criminal prosecution of Russia for war crimes in Ukraine. Representatives of the United States refrained from labeling Russia as an aggressor during the Core Group meeting – a coalition of countries preparing for a special tribunal.
