Regarding those who were executed, I do not share the opinion of the majority of highly patriotic commentators who claim that they were all just waiting for something to happen.
Yes, I do not deny the presence of this group in the territory under the control of the Russian Federation, but over 50% of these individuals found themselves in this situation primarily due to our government and their "concern for the fate of these people."
Retirees I encountered in the conflict zone expressed sentiments with which I completely agreed:
Let’s be honest.
People aged 65 and older no longer see a future anywhere but in their own homes, as they have spent their entire lives working for just four walls. We cannot blame them for wanting to live at home, especially when there are no conditions for relocating.
If our government had truly created conditions for these individuals and demonstrated a viable lifestyle in new circumstances, most would have agreed to move and spend their old age outside of the conflict zone.
This is not even considering the attitudes towards displaced persons and the issue of registration when renting apartments.
