Russia is currently training military personnel from North Korea to participate in the war against Ukraine. The exercises are taking place at four Russian training grounds.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing sources within the intelligence services.
The training of North Korean soldiers is being conducted at training grounds in Khabarovsk, Ussuriysk, Blagoveshchensk, and Vladivostok.
According to Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Russia will send approximately 11,000 North Korean troops to the war against Ukraine starting in November. He noted that the first group of 2,600 soldiers will be dispatched to Kursk.
Meanwhile, South Korean intelligence claims that North Korea will send 12,000 soldiers to Ukraine.
In October, Western media reported that North Korea intends to deploy troops to participate in the war against Ukraine. It has been noted that North Korean officers are already present in the occupied territories of Ukraine, with some possibly having lost their lives.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, around 10,000 soldiers from North Korea are undergoing training in Russia.
President Vladimir Zelensky also stated that North Korea is preparing a contingent on Russian territory. He mentioned that North Korea is ready to send not only infantry to Ukraine but also other types of troops.
