Switzerland will allocate over €1.5 million to support Ukraine's reconstruction efforts.

The Swiss government plans to allocate 1.5 billion Swiss francs (1.58 million euros) for the reconstruction of Ukraine from 2025 to 2028.

The agency stated that the program marks the initial phase of implementing a support plan, with a total amount of 5 billion Swiss francs (5.3 billion euros). The plan was approved in 2024, and the provision of support will continue until 2036.

The document outlines that the government has identified key areas for the program, including the protection of civilians, peacekeeping, economic recovery, and strengthening institutional capacity.

In the initial phase, funding will be directed towards supporting the private sector, particularly agriculture, as well as conducting reconstruction efforts in cities. Special attention will be given to restoring the operation of medical facilities, as well as the social and educational sectors.

Additionally, part of the funds will be used for demining operations and searching for missing persons.
