In the decision made by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), errors were found in the data regarding individuals against whom Ukraine imposes sanctions. One of the inaccuracies pertains to the people's deputy and leader of "European Solidarity," Petro Poroshenko. Investigative journalist Maxim Savchuk wrote about this error on his Facebook page.
Savchuk examined the Security Council's decision to impose sanctions on five individuals — entrepreneurs and politicians who will face economic and other restrictions. The journalist noted the number of characters in Poroshenko's taxpayer identification number. It turned out there are 11 digits instead of the required 10. In his Facebook post, he stated that this mistake makes the sanctions against the politician "questionable."
The journalist shared a screenshot of the document prepared by the NSDC. It is evident that Poroshenko's identification code indeed contains the wrong number of digits.
In addition to Poroshenko, another error involves entrepreneur Konstantin Zhevago, as noted by Savchuk. According to him, there is a discrepancy in the year of birth: Zhevago was born in 1974, while the Security Council document states 1957.
As of now, there has been no response from the official NSDC pages regarding the errors in the official document.
It is worth noting that the information about the sanctions imposed by the NSDC on Petro Poroshenko was first published by Forbes Ukraine, citing its own sources. A source informed the journalists that a Security Council meeting took place, during which the respective decision was made. It was also mentioned that there might be suspicions of treason involved.
Following this, a statement from Poroshenko was released on the politician's YouTube channel. The MP rejected all accusations and assured that he would continue to support the army, although this would be problematic after the sanctions on his assets. He then listed the mistakes he believes were made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He also accused the authorities of allegedly preparing for the electoral process.
We remind you that on February 13, Volodymyr Zelensky explained why he signed the decree on sanctions against Poroshenko. Meanwhile, members of "European Solidarity" disrupted a session of the Verkhovna Rada.
