Russia has provided Iran with intelligence data. This occurred just hours before Israel's attack on Iran on October 26.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Sky News Arabia.
A source from the publication noted that Russia informed Iran about the movements of American and Israeli military forces. According to the insider, Moscow shared this information due to "cooperation with Iran and the aim of de-escalating tensions in the region."
As reported by Sky News Arabia, Iran downplayed the impact of the Israeli attack. Tehran claimed that there were "minor consequences" at certain sites. Meanwhile, Iranian media denied Israel's assertions of strikes on 20 locations and the involvement of 100 Israeli military aircraft in the attack.
Additionally, the publication states that Iran’s claims confirm that the Israeli strikes targeted military bases in the provinces of Ilam, Khuzestan, and Tehran.
On Saturday, October 26, Israel launched an attack on Iran at dawn. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), this was a response to Tehran's missile attack in early October, during which Iran fired approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel.
Reports of explosions in Tehran and other cities circulated online.
The IDF stated that they targeted only military facilities in Iran, including air defense batteries and ballistic missile production sites. Israel noted that dozens of military aircraft participated in the attack.
The Pentagon affirmed its support for Israel's right to self-defense but emphasized that the U.S. will not allow the conflict to escalate in the region.
