On the night of October 21 to 22, Russian occupation forces struck Sumy, damaging residential buildings. This was reported by the head of the Sumy city military administration, Alexey Drozdzenko.
"As a result of the enemy attack, we have hits in residential buildings," Drozdzenko wrote.
He specified that the emergency response headquarters would begin operations at 9 AM at School No. 27.
Meanwhile, acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, reported that at least one person was hospitalized due to the enemy attack.
Rescuers and other emergency services are working at the scene.
It is worth noting that prior to this, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the threat of drone strikes in the western and southern parts of Sumy region.
Subsequently, the Sumy regional military administration reported that the enemy had carried out an airstrike using "Shaheds."
"The consequences of the enemy attack are being clarified. Unfortunately, there are preliminary reports of civilian casualties," noted the Sumy OGA.
Recall that on October 21, Kyiv region came under attack from Russian forces. As a result of the attack, residential buildings, vehicles, and other infrastructure were damaged.
On October 20, Russia struck Kryvyi Rih, resulting in numerous injuries and extensive destruction.
