Russia launched drone strikes on Kyiv and its region, resulting in loud explosions. More details to follow.

On Thursday morning, October 31, Russian occupation forces launched strike drones at Kyiv, with debris falling in the Podil district. This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.

"As a result of the strike drone attack by the armed forces of the Russian Federation on Kyiv, debris was recorded falling in the Podil district of the city. Preliminary information indicates a fire. Emergency services are heading to the scene. Further details are being clarified," the statement reads.

As a result of the debris falling in an open area, a fire ignited in the grass covering an area of approximately 50 square meters. At the time of this report, efforts were underway to extinguish the fire. There has been no information regarding casualties or damage.

Prior to this, at 05:33, an air raid alert was declared in the city. The Ukrainian Air Force warned that there is a "Shahed" drone heading towards Kyiv. Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, informed about the operation of air defense near the capital.

"The air raid alert continues! Air defense is active in the region, approaching Kyiv. Stay in shelters until the alert is lifted!" he wrote.

Recall that on the night of October 29 to 30, Russia attacked the capital with strike drones. They fell on a residential building in the Solomianskyi district of the capital. As a result of the attack, at least 9 people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl who is experiencing acute stress reaction.

Additionally, during the nighttime attack by Russian drones on Kyiv, a building of the Jewish school "Zhemchuzhyna" in the Solomianskyi district was severely damaged. At the time of the attack, there was no one in the building, and there were no casualties. The neighboring residential building also suffered damage from the Russian drone strike, resulting in several injuries.
