Belarus and the Russian Federation will conduct joint military exercises. They will explore one of the options for deploying troop groupings during joint operations.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
According to the Belarusian defense ministry, a joint staff training of the Unified Command of the regional troop grouping will be held in Minsk to enhance the defense capabilities of the Union State.
The theme of the training is "Decision-making on the deployment of the RGV(S) in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Union State."
The exercises will take place from January 14 to 16. In particular, representatives of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia will practice one of the options for deploying troop groupings (forces) during joint operations at stationary command posts.
The training is part of a series of activities in preparation for the joint strategic exercise "West-2025," which will occur this year on the territory of Belarus.
A week ago, it became known that Belarus is increasing its military presence in the border area with Ukraine. Specifically, units of the Belarusian Ground Forces were redeployed to the Stolin, Lelchitsy, Mozyr, and Gomel districts.
At the same time, the Central Intelligence Agency noted that there is currently no threat of regular Belarusian troops invading Ukraine from their territory. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are monitoring the situation at the border.
We also reported that Belarus will conduct military exercises near the border with Ukraine. These will last until January 31.
