Russia is launching strikes on Ukraine with powerful "Shahed" drones and missiles, causing intense explosions to be heard in Kyiv.

By the evening of January 3, Russian occupation forces launched an attack, deploying strike drones of the "Shahed" type against Ukraine. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"New groups of strike UAVs in the northern region of Chernihiv are moving southwest," the message stated at 20:41.

Following this, the movement of strike UAVs was recorded in the Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.

Residents of Kyiv and Cherkasy regions were also warned about the threat from enemy "Shaheds."

The latest update on the movement of Russian drones was provided by the Air Forces at 23:10, concerning Kyiv and Brovary.

An hour earlier, warnings were issued to other regions, specifically:

• UAVs in the Sumy region, moving southwest towards Poltava;
• UAVs in Chernihiv, heading toward Kyiv;
• UAVs in Poltava, on a southwest course.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced multiple times the missile threat for various regions of Ukraine and reported launches of guided aerial bombs (KAB) by tactical aviation in the Donetsk region.

At the time of publication, there was no information about damages or casualties resulting from the Russian attack.

Recall that on the night of January 2 to 3, Russia launched dozens of strike drones of the "Shahed" type across Ukrainian territory.

On the afternoon of January 3, the Russian Armed Forces delivered a triple strike on Chernihiv.
