На горнолыжном курорте во Львовской области ребенок погиб, врачи реанимировали его в течение 40 минут.

On Wednesday afternoon, January 8, the Stryi District Police Department received a report of a child fatality at one of the ski resorts. This was reported by the police of Lviv region.

Law enforcement officials determined that a 12-year-old resident of Kyiv was vacationing at the resort with his parents. While skiing down a slope, he fell and sustained a serious head injury. Medics provided assistance at the scene, but despite all efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Currently, the authorities are conducting initial investigative actions, and the legal qualification of the incident is being determined.

Journalist Vitaliy Hlahola clarified that the tragedy occurred at the "Plai" ski resort.

According to him, the boy, while descending the slope, crashed into a safety net at high speed, performed a somersault in the air after the impact, and fell to the ground. The journalist mentioned that he learned this from sources in the resort's management, who reviewed footage from surveillance cameras. However, access to this video is currently unavailable.

Medics who arrived promptly at the scene attempted to resuscitate the boy using a defibrillator, but all their efforts were unsuccessful — the child’s heart could not be restarted.

The Lviv Center for Emergency Medical Assistance informed LVIV.MEDIA that when the team arrived, the resort staff was already providing assistance to the boy. Medics attempted to revive the child for 40 minutes but were ultimately forced to declare him deceased.

In a comment to "Suspilne," the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance stated that according to the documents, the boy was 13 years old.

The child suffered from a catatrauma, meaning injuries sustained from a fall from a height exceeding the height of the injured person. During the cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which was conducted according to protocols for up to 40 minutes, the child's heart could not be restarted.

Recall that at the "Lybidska" metro station in Kyiv, a child's leg was caught in the escalator. A station employee stopped the "escalator," and rescuers and medics were called to the scene.
