The compact crossover Volkswagen Nivus made its debut four years ago as the first model developed under the guidance of the company's Brazilian division. Now, Brazil sees the unveiling of the refreshed Nivus, showcasing the brand's new signature style.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the German automaker.

The primary changes are exterior-focused. The crossover features a completely redesigned front end, new headlights, and the main air intake has been relocated to the bottom of the bumper. The new rear lights are also connected by a strip, and the bumper now includes a diffuser imitation. The body color palette has expanded to include new shades: Turbo Blue and Titan Blue.

Interior changes are more modest. Designers have updated the upholstery of the seats and doors, and installed a touchscreen climate control panel. The Volkswagen Play media system, specifically designed for Brazilian models, has received new graphics and an enhanced set of online features.

The Nivus crossover is powered by a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI turbo engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Notably, the vehicle can run on two types of fuel. On gasoline, the engine produces 116 hp, while on ethanol, which is widely available in Brazil, it delivers 128 hp. The updated Volkswagen Nivus is already available for order, starting at a price of $24,000.

Visible distinctions from the base model include a different grille, striking wheels, an enlarged rear spoiler, and black accents.
