Two men pretended to be law enforcement officers and threatened military personnel in order to abduct conscripts. The details of the case were shared on February 11 by the press service of the Chernihiv region police.

According to the investigation, on February 9 at approximately 2:00 AM, the police received a report that an Audi driver in the Chernihiv region "cut off" a bus carrying soldiers. Two men in civilian clothes emerged from the vehicle, claiming to be police officers and showing a "badge."

"The law enforcement officers" demanded that the group leader hand over two conscripts. They threatened that if their request was denied or there was any attempt to resist, they would open fire. One of the men had his hand on his holster at that moment.

After taking two recruits out of the bus, the fake police officers put them into a car and drove off in an unknown direction.

The investigators found that this was a premeditated conspiracy aimed at staging the police arrest of two conscripts to prevent them from reporting for duty. Such "services" cost up to 5,000 dollars for each conscript.

The impersonators were located and arrested; they were residents of Kyiv and the surrounding area, aged 34 and 21. One of the conscripts was also detained, while the other is still being sought.

During a search of the Audi, the following items were discovered: a device for firing rubber bullets (FORT-12R), a carbine, a simulation training grenade "Piro-5M," an identification card for the head of physical security of a private institution, a journalist's ID, and a volunteer driver's ID from a public organization. Investigators have opened cases for usurpation of power or the title of an official using an ID, as well as for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The penalty for the more serious charge can be up to eight years in prison," the police explained.

Additionally, cases have been initiated regarding the desertion of two conscripts, meaning the unauthorized leaving of the place of service to evade duty, as well as failing to report for the same reason.

It is worth noting that lab technician Stepan Bilchenko from LNU ended up in the hospital following his mobilization. Initially, it was reported that he was "abducted" and beaten by TCK workers, but later another version emerged — the scientist jumped out of the car. The father of the Ukrainian stated that his son is indeed capable of such "heroism."

On February 10, it became known that a couple in Germany was convicted for killing two Ukrainian women to abduct a child. Details emerged about how the couple planned and executed the triple crime.
