Послы ЕС согласовали 16-й пакет санкций против России.

The EU has approved the 16th sanctions package against Russia. The new restrictions were confirmed during a meeting of foreign ministers.

Brussels correspondent for "Radio Liberty," Rikard Jozwiak, reported this on social media platform X.

“EU ambassadors have just agreed on a new sanctions package regarding Russia. This is the 16th since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine three years ago. It was officially adopted by foreign ministers on Monday,” the message states.

Details about the contents of the sanctions package are currently unavailable.

The agreement has already been commented on by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak. “The news about the 16th sanctions package against the Russian Federation is positive. I know that several of our proposals have been taken into account,” he noted.

Yermak urged the preparation of a 17th package, expressing the opinion that “sanctions are one of the key mechanisms to deter Russia's desire to kill more.”

Recall that within the framework of the 16th sanctions package, the European Union plans to add an additional 25 Chinese companies to the blacklist of firms circumventing anti-Russian sanctions. It is also expected that one Chinese entity will fall under the restrictions.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that during a speech at the Council of EU Foreign Ministers, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga emphasized the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia.
