The persistent dominance of the anticyclone over Eastern Europe will bring frosty and mostly dry weather to Ukraine over the next five days. However, by the weekend, a warmer and more humid air mass is expected to move in from the southern and western regions. This was reported by meteorologist Igor Kibalchich.
According to him, with the activation of cyclonic activity, most regions will experience precipitation in the form of snow and rain in the first days of March, while temperatures will significantly rise.
On Monday, February 24, light snow and weak blizzards are expected in the eastern part of the country and in Dnipropetrovsk region. The rest of Ukraine will remain dry. Fog and frost may occur at night and in the morning in the Right Bank areas. There will be icy conditions on the roads. Winds in the Left Bank will be from the north at 7-12 m/s; in the Right Bank, winds will be variable at 3-8 m/s. Temperatures will range from -6 to -12, with some areas in the northern and central regions experiencing frost strengthening to -13 to -20. During the day, temperatures will warm up to -2 to +4, while in the northern and eastern regions, temperatures will range from -2 to -7.
On Tuesday, February 25, cloudy weather with light snow will persist in the eastern part of the country and in the Azov Sea region. The rest of Ukraine will remain free of precipitation. Fog and frost may occur at night and in the morning in the Right Bank areas. There will be icy conditions on the roads. Winds will be variable at 3-8 m/s, with gusty winds in the east. Nighttime temperatures will be between -7 to -13, in the northern and central regions -14 to -21, and in Transcarpathia -3 to -8. During the day, temperatures are expected to be between -5 to +1, and in the far west +2 to +7.
On Wednesday, February 26, mostly clear weather without precipitation is expected across Ukraine, with local fog and frost possible. Icy conditions may occur on the roads. Winds will be variable at 3-8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range from -14 to -19, in the western and southern regions -7 to -13; during the day -4 to +3 °C, with +4 to +7 in the far west.
On Thursday, February 27, dry and calm weather will continue in Ukraine, with no precipitation. Winds will be variable at 3-8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will show -12 to -17, in the western and southern regions -6 to -11; during the day temperatures will range from -2 to +4, and in the southern and western regions +5 to +8.
On Friday, February 28, light wet snow and rain are forecasted during the day in the western and some northern regions. No precipitation is expected in the other areas of Ukraine. Fog and icy conditions may occur at night and in the morning. Winds will be variable at night, shifting to southwest at 5-10 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will range from -2 to -7, in the northern and eastern regions -8 to -14; during the day, temperatures will be between 0 to +5, in the central, southern, and western regions +2 to +7.
On Saturday, March 1, wet snow and rain are predicted for most of the territory. Local fog and wet snow sticking might occur. Icy conditions may be present on the roads. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from -4 to +1 °C, in the eastern part of the country -5 to -10; during the day, temperatures will be between 0 to +5, and in the southern regions +2 to +7.
On Sunday, March 2, light snow and wet snow will occur in parts of Ukraine, with rain in the southern half and Crimea. Local fog and slight wet snow sticking may happen. Winds will predominantly be from the western quadrant at 5-10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be between -3 to +2, and during the day 0 to +5, reaching up to +7 in the south.
We remind you that on February 24, Ukraine will experience predominantly sunny weather with no significant precipitation. Only in the eastern regions might there be light snow, which will gradually cease by the end of the day.
