"Укрпошта" прокомментировала ситуацию с утерей студенческих документов в Тернополе, заверяя, что поиски продолжаются.

As of Thursday, January 16, the investigation into the search for a lost registered letter, which contained documents of students from the Ternopil National Medical University named after I. Ya. Horbachevsky, is ongoing. This was reported by the press service of "Ukrposhta" in response to a request from "Suspilne".

It is noted that the package with the documents is being sought in all departments involved in the shipment. The search is also continuing along the entire route. Currently, operations and statuses in the logistics system are being analyzed, and recorded violations are being reviewed.

After the investigation and receipt of results, the postal operator will resume communication with the sender to resolve the issue.

"In the field of postal shipments, as in any other service sector with complex logistics and large volumes, cases of loss or delays in the delivery of correspondence can occur. However, as a company, we are always ready to take responsibility for our mistakes," stated the response from "Ukrposhta".

They also noted that according to the law, compensation for the loss of postal shipments without declared value includes reimbursement of the postal service cost and a fine of 100 percent of that service's cost, which amounts to 109 hryvnias that the operator compensated to the addressee.

"Suspilne" also reported that "Ukrposhta" lost a notarized package of documents belonging to two foreign students of TNMU. The lost "papers" are needed by the students from Africa to obtain their medical university diplomas.

Through the "Ukrposhta" service, staff from the university's document management department checked the whereabouts of the letter and found out that it had "stuck" in a logistics center in Ternopil. Although postal workers started the search, the "envelope" has not been found.

The university noted that the procedure for preparing a new package of documents has begun, but this requires financial resources and a lot of time.

It is worth mentioning that in 2024, there were 27,226 foreign students enrolled in Ukrainian universities. According to information from the Ministry of Education and Science, 514 students were from the Russian Federation.
