In Oberhof, Germany, a men's pursuit race took place, featuring three Ukrainian competitors.
The leader of the Ukrainian team, Dmytro Pidruchnyi, managed to participate in the “flower ceremony,” finishing in sixth place.
After a “disastrous” previous race for the Norwegian biathletes, it was the representatives from this country who claimed all three podium spots today.
Pidruchnyi missed three times out of four shooting stages, dropping from fourth to sixth place. Vitalii Mandzyn had a flawless first two shooting rounds but then missed three times, resulting in a 20th place finish.
The best shooting performance came from Taras Lesiuk, who had two misses but still fell from 34th to 37th place.
The main “loser” of the race was Frenchman Fabien Claude, who started second and missed four shots in the third shooting stage, plummeting to 18th place.
