At the end of winter in 2025, a small cyclone named Reiner will "visit" Ukraine, leading to expected precipitation. This was reported by meteorologist Natalia Didenko on her social media.
Specifically, there will be an occluded front over Ukraine—when a cold front catches up with a warm front and they merge into one. This indicates that precipitation will occur.
On the last day of winter, the cyclone with the front will bring rain and wet snow to the western regions of Ukraine. Additionally, there will be gusty southeast winds.
In the rest of Ukraine, there will be no significant precipitation on Friday.
The coldest temperatures will be in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Poltava regions, with nighttime lows of -10 to -15 degrees.
In most regions of Ukraine, nighttime temperatures will range from -2 to -6 degrees, while in the west, it will be around zero.
Throughout the day on February 28, temperatures are expected to be between 0 and 6 degrees (it will be colder in the western regions due to precipitation), with the eastern part being a few degrees lower, ranging from -3 to +2 degrees.
In the capital of Ukraine, nighttime temperatures will be -2 to -4 degrees, and daytime highs will reach +2 to +4 degrees. In the afternoon, the southeast wind may strengthen.
Precipitation on the last day of winter in Kyiv is unlikely.
Spring will commence with damp weather and significantly milder frosts at night, along with cool days.
"Because we have almost made it through this long, dark winter journey together—our shared spring is ahead!" emphasized Didenko.
Let’s remember where there will be snowfalls in the first days of March.
