During the day on January 17, Russian forces launched missile attacks on Kryvyi Rih. The city experienced two explosions. As a result of the strikes, an educational institution and residential buildings were damaged, and there are casualties.

According to a message on Telegram from the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak,

“As of now, there are four fatalities in Kryvyi Rih. Three women and one man. Three individuals were injured: a 22-year-old woman and men aged 34 and 56. All are in serious condition. Medical personnel are providing the necessary assistance,” he wrote.

“According to updated information, five people were injured. Three have been hospitalized in critical condition. Two others received assistance on-site,” he added later.

He stated that as a result of the attack, two five-story buildings were damaged, with a fire erupting in one of them. An unused building was also ravaged.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, announced that a Day of Mourning would be declared in the city on January 20 for those who lost their lives in the attack.

“A day of mourning will be declared in the city on Monday, January 20,” he wrote.

All emergency services are currently working at the sites of the incidents.

According to data from the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, the number of injured in Kryvyi Rih has now risen to seven as a result of the ballistic missile strike.

“The number of injured in Kryvyi Rih has increased. As of now, there are seven. Four are hospitalized. The condition of most remains serious. One injured person is in moderate condition,” he wrote.
