A delegation from the Workers' Party of Korea has arrived in Moscow, having planned the visit in response to an invitation from the "United Russia" party. This was preceded by a message from the Russian embassy in Pyongyang indicating that both sides are preparing to enhance cooperation under the previously established "comprehensive partnership" agreement. Additionally, satellites detected the movement of a cargo ship with containers that likely held military cargo. This was reported by analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War in their summary for February 25.
They believe that Russia and North Korea are preparing to deepen their collaboration, which means the DPRK could increase resource supplies to Russia, particularly for military purposes. Actions indicating heightened assistance from North Korea to Russia are already being recorded, specifically regarding unusual activity of a vessel in the port of Rasun, located near the border between Russia and China.
"Satellite images reveal a line of containers approximately 100 meters long on the pier in the port of Rasun next to a docked vessel," the analysts note based on images from Planet Labs PBC.
Analysts believe that the ship underwent unloading of containers and was reloaded with new resources.
"The vessel arrived at the inner side of Rasun port on February 20 and moved to the outer side on February 21, indicating that the ship was unloading containers on the inner side of the pier and loading new containers before departure," specialists from ISW point out.
Similar activities occurred in this port earlier, in November 2023, when analysts reported that North Korea may have used this location to transport ammunition to Vladivostok, Russia.
Recall that the Institute for the Study of War previously reported that Russia does not show signs of readiness to make material compromises in peace negotiations. This was made known on February 19.
Analysts also noted that through negotiations, Putin aims to extract maximum concessions from Trump. This was reported on February 20.
