New fines for the film industry: The Cabinet is pushing for stricter regulations on movie screenings.

The Cabinet of Ministers is proposing that the Verkhovna Rada increase penalties for violations of the rules for distributing and showing films.

According to reported by Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet representative in the Verkhovna Rada.

He stated that the draft law aims to align the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses with the law "On Cinematography" and the Regulation on the State Register of Films regarding the conditions for the distribution and demonstration of national films.

As stated by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, the bill proposes the following fines:

- for failing to meet the quota for demonstrating national films during the use of national screen time – from one thousand to two thousand non-taxable minimums. If such actions are repeated, the fine will range from two thousand to three thousand non-taxable minimums;

- for screening films not included in the State Register of Films – from one thousand to two thousand non-taxable minimums. If such actions are repeated, the fine will range from two thousand to three thousand non-taxable minimums;

- for demonstrating and distributing films in violation of cinematography legislation – from one thousand to two thousand non-taxable minimums. If such actions are repeated, the fine will range from two thousand to three thousand non-taxable minimums.
