Ukrainians, if they lose their state, will take at least 100-200 years to restore it. Considering this, it is better to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defend the country now. Furthermore, one should think about military service in light of the situation that will arise after the current war ends. Regarding the consequences during peacetime for those who have not served in the Armed Forces, Deputy Head of the Recruitment Center for Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Igor Shvaika, with the call sign "Minister," explained in an interview on the YouTube channel poBalakaemoPro.
Shvaika clarified what he believes will happen after the war concludes. According to him, society will become militarized as threats will persist, even with victory over enemies. Due to this militarization, certain changes in public life are likely, which the representative of the Defense Forces believes should be considered now.
"After we defeat all the Muscovites along with the Koreans, we will remain, but the external threats in this turbulent modern world, unfortunately, will not disappear. They will remain. And we will all transition to a militarized civilian lifestyle," he can be heard saying in the video.
The recruiter for the Territorial Defense stated that Ukrainians who do not serve in the army will face certain inconveniences. He mentioned that they would encounter difficulties in obtaining loans and defending dissertations. Additionally, doctors cannot head medical institutions unless they have served in the Armed Forces, Shvaika emphasized.
"None of us will be able to take a loan if we haven't undergone military training, or defend a dissertation if we haven't served in the army. Or be appointed as the chief physician of a neurosurgery hospital if we haven't served in our medical specialty within the Armed Forces. It is best to serve, of course, in the territorial defense forces, without unnecessary publicity," Shvaika explained.
Igor Shvaika is a 48-year-old Ukrainian politician who was part of the Kharkiv regional organization of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda," reported media outlet LB. After the Revolution of Dignity, as a member of Arseniy Yatsenyuk's government, he headed the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food. Following the invasion in 2022, Shvaika began working as the Deputy Head of the Recruitment Center for Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that on January 24, Associated Press reported on a new mobilization decree being developed in the Cabinet of Ministers. The decree will address young men aged 18-25. Eligible young individuals will be offered to join the army, promising large sums of money for signing contracts, as stated in the article.
