In several cities across Russia, airport operations were restricted on the morning of January 5 due to a perceived aerial threat.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Russian media sources.
The "Rosaviatsiya" authority stated that airport operations in Nizhnekamsk, Izhevsk, and Perm were limited to "ensure flight safety."
Previously, the Russians closed the airport in Kazan. Temporary restrictions on civilian aircraft flights were also implemented there.
Reports indicated that a "Carpet" plan was activated at Kazan Airport. This plan is announced when there is a threat to aircraft or if there has been a recorded breach of the Russian Federation's borders.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a massive drone attack on the night of January 5. Moscow claims that 61 drones were allegedly destroyed across five regions, specifically 37 in Rostov, 20 in Bryansk, two in Voronezh, and one each in Belgorod and Oryol.
It has been reported online that drones attacked Taganrog and Millerovo in Rostov region. This particularly concerns an attack on an airfield.
Additionally, the governor of Belgorod region claims that drones struck three settlements, dropping explosives.
