In the Kherson region, five children fell through the ice; two have been rescued, while three are still missing. This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Alexander Prokudin.
"In the Velykooleksandrivska community, four children who were walking on the frozen river fell through the ice. A 16-year-old girl witnessed this. She rushed to help the children and also went under the water. Fortunately, she and one of the girls were pulled out by concerned individuals," — Prokudin explained.
According to him, the girls are suffering from severe hypothermia. They are receiving necessary medical assistance.
"The search continues for the other children — a girl and two boys. The youngest is only nine years old," — noted Prokudin.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed the information and stated that rescuers and divers are conducting the search for the children.
Recall that earlier, the State Emergency Service warned that a dangerous trend is spreading among Ukrainian schoolchildren via TikTok. Police were called to one school in Chernivtsi due to a "prank" involving homemade explosives. In at least two cases, this "game" resulted in facial burns, and a 9-year-old boy was left blind in one eye.
