The Russian Federation has once again disrupted the rotation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

This was reported by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgiy Tikhiy.

According to him, the previous rotations of the Agency were supposed to take place in January and February, but the Russians are "systematically obstructing access for international observers, using blackmail, provocations, and outright threats."

He noted that IAEA experts have been at the occupied ZNPP for 69 days, which he described as "the longest period since the mission was deployed at the plant."

"Moscow wants to place international experts in a hopeless situation – either they work under Russian control and remain silent about the real situation, or the plant remains without independent international oversight. This is not just another disruption of rotation. It is part of a broader Kremlin strategy to undermine the independence of the IAEA, force the international agency into compromises with the aggressor, and make it dependent on Moscow's decisions," Tikhiy explained.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted a thorough inspection of the radiation shelter of Reactor Unit 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged due to a Russian drone attack on the night of February 14.
