The International Investment Bank (IIB) may lose its securities trading licenses following the imposition of sanctions against its beneficial owner, Petro Poroshenko.

This was reported by the National Securities and Stock Market Commission in a response to an inquiry from the Economic Truth (EP).

In the regulator's response, it is stated that the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) is currently reviewing the relevant decision.

In particular, the NSSMC noted that on February 18, 2025, they received an action plan to implement the decree on imposing sanctions against several individuals, including Petro Poroshenko. According to this plan, the NSSMC was identified as one of the bodies responsible for enforcing the sanctions.

The NSSMC emphasized that under Article 74 of the law "On Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets," a sanctioned individual cannot hold a significant share (more than 10%) in the capital of a licensed organization under the NSSMC.

Currently, the commission is considering measures to be taken as stipulated by law.

Background. Previously, Mind reported that Poroshenko confirmed that sanctions had been imposed against him by the NSDC. The day before, media sources indicated that the National Security Council had introduced sanctions against the fifth president.
