Мир должен вновь оказать максимальное давление на Иран, заявил специальный представитель Трампа.

The world must return to a policy of "maximum pressure" on Tehran. This is essential to transform Iran into a more democratic nation.

This was stated by Trump's special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Reuters.

The agency notes that Kellogg arrived in Paris today, where he is attending an event organized by Iranian opposition members. It is known that the Iranian group NRCI has repeatedly called for the overthrow of the Iranian authorities. The Trump special representative is also delivering a speech there.

"This pressure is not only kinetic, not just military force, but it must also be economic and diplomatic... We need to exploit the weakness that we see now. There is hope, so there must also be actions," he stated.

Kellogg mentioned that there is a possibility to "change Iran for the better," but this opportunity will not last forever.

The last time the Trump special representative spoke at NRCI events was in November, but his presence in Paris today indicates that the new U.S. administration is listening to the group of Iranian opposition members.

However, it remains unclear whether he will take advantage of his trip to Paris to meet with French officials and discuss Ukraine.

Recall that earlier this month it became known that Kellogg postponed his visit to European capitals, including Kyiv, for meetings with officials from those states. The trip was initially scheduled before Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting was rescheduled for legal reasons and will take place after Trump takes office. Meanwhile, the visit is still being prepared.
