Musk responded to discussions regarding the disconnection of Ukraine from Starlink.

Earlier, Reuters reported that this could occur if Ukraine refuses to sign an agreement with the United States regarding rare earth metals.
Маск прокомментировал обсуждение отключения Украины от Starlink.

Billionaire Elon Musk refuted a report by Reuters on his social media platform X, which he owns, regarding discussions about disconnecting Ukraine from the Starlink satellite internet service.

Earlier, Reuters reported, citing its sources, that the issue was raised by American negotiators after Ukraine refused to sign the initial version of an agreement on rare earth metals with Washington.

“This is false. Reuters is lying,” wrote Elon Musk on his X account, who is currently a close ally of Trump and the head of the government efficiency department he established in the U.S.

Following the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Musk delivered thousands of Starlink terminals, produced by SpaceX, to Ukraine. For the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Starlink terminals were critically important in the face of losing cellular communication and internet access.

The issue of disconnection was also raised during a meeting between U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg and President Zelensky, according to Reuters. During the conversation, the Ukrainian side was informed that access to Starlink would be cut off without signing the agreement.

“Ukraine is completely reliant on Starlink; they consider it their North Star. Losing access to the system would be a severe blow for them,” a source stated.

Background. Meanwhile, the Polish government commented on the U.S. threats to disconnect Starlink from Kyiv.

“Poland has purchased Starlink satellite internet devices for Ukraine and is covering the costs of their connection,” said the head of Poland's Ministry of Digital Affairs. He emphasized that this is purely a commercial matter of purchasing and paying for the service.
