Flying at 17 km: US-made ADAM anti-personnel mines spotted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to OSINT (photo included).

On the battlefield, the use of the ADAM remote mining systems was observed, which the Pentagon promised to provide to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in early autumn 2024. These systems allow for the mining of territory from a distance of 17 km. Afterward, the explosive devices wait for the enemy to approach in order to detonate within a shrapnel damage radius of seven meters. Details about the new weapon have been shared on the Defense Express portal.

The portal reported on OSINT analysts who found evidence online of the deployment of ADAM remote mining systems at the front line. An analyst using the nickname Colby Badhwar posted a photo on the social media platform X (Twitter) showing soldiers from the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named after King Daniel. The photo depicts fighters holding an ADAM munition filled with anti-personnel mines for remote mining. However, this image, along with another one posted by OSINT analyst Roy, could not be found on the brigade's pages.

Defense Express explained the benefits that the Armed Forces of Ukraine gain from the newly acquired American remote mining systems. This type of weaponry is expected to help stop the "meat assaults" of the Russian infantry, the analysts wrote.

Armed Forces of Ukraine - What We Know About ADAM

Upon impact with the ground, mines scatter in all directions, which self-destruct within four hours, as explained in the article. They also reminded about another useful type of munition - the M731, which carries M72 mines that self-destruct within 48 hours.

• mine dispersion radius - 600 m;
• infantry damage radius - 7 m.

It should be noted that in the spring and summer of 2024, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine frequently reported on "meat assaults" that the Russian command was employing against their troops. For instance, this tactic was specifically used by the enemy during the spring attacks on Chasiv Yar, as reported by the OSUV "Khortytsia." It was noted that the opponent "conserves equipment," primarily using infantry with minimal cover.

A similar situation occurred in the summer near Pokrovsk, stated Rustam, the chief sergeant of the drone battalion of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade. According to him, prior to this, the Russians had been using armored vehicles en masse but then shifted to the tactic of "meat assaults". The soldier explained that this way, the enemy can attack in any weather and across any terrain: they advance but suffer heavy losses.
