The true winter has arrived in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Everything here is covered in snow. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine shared photographs of the snow-covered mountainous area.
"Wow! The Pop Ivan mountain looks so wintery now. As of this morning, it's cloudy with limited visibility, a western wind at 10 m/s, and the air temperature is -6°C," the message states.
Ukrainians are urged to dress warmer as it will get colder tonight in various regions.
Forecasters predict that a powerful anticyclone will begin to affect Ukraine in the latter half of the week, significantly changing the weather conditions. Precipitation will decrease considerably, but air temperatures will drop significantly, potentially leading to frost in some areas.
According to meteorologists, on Thursday, October 17, brief rain is possible during the night and morning in the southern, central, and eastern regions. During the day, except for Crimea, no precipitation is expected across the entire territory of Ukraine. On October 18, the anticyclone will continue to exert its influence, and clear and dry weather is anticipated in most parts of the country. Only in the east and certain areas of Crimea may there be minor precipitation.
Let us remind you that Ukraine is currently under the influence of a rain cyclone, which is already moving in a northeastern direction.
