Ukraine

This week, the Ministry of Finance resumes the placement of government bonds after the Christmas and New Year break. Analytics from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and price statistics will be published. The update on international reserves and the publication of statistics will help better navigate the currency market.

Monday, January 6

  • NBU. Publication of the first Macroeconomic and Monetary Review of the year. This is an important analytical document that presents a snapshot of the economic situation in Ukraine and globally. In it, NBU experts focus on inflation indicators, economic activity, the labor market, the budget sector, and the balance of payments. The statistics are accompanied by commentary explaining the influencing factors. The previous review (December 2024) can be viewed at the link.

Tuesday, January 7

  • NBU. Update of data on international reserves as of January 1 of the current year. As of December 1, 2024, Ukraine's international reserves stood at $39.9 billion. For the month, they increased by 9.1%. This trend is due, on one hand, to significant inflows from international partners, and on the other, to a reduction in the volume of net currency sales by the National Bank on the currency market.
  • Ministry of Finance. Placement of domestic government bonds (OVDP) maturing in:
    • February 2026 (UA4000233696);
    • April 2027 (UA4000233704);
    • November 2027 (UA4000233712);
    • January 2029 (primary placement).

Based on the results of the previous OVDP placements that took place on December 24,

Why should I become a Mind subscriber?

Mind UA is an independent business portal. We are not dependent on (and do not belong to) any political, oligarchic, or other groups. The project is created by a team of business journalists; we attract only portfolio investors.

Advertising revenues for media worldwide are rapidly declining. In the race for readership, tabloids and resources that manipulate facts win, chasing sensationalism. Unlike them, we strive to create truly useful and high-quality products to provide real added value for our readers.

Quality journalism requires a lot of time, effort, and expenses; it is genuinely not cheap. However, we believe in the prospects of quality journalism in Ukraine because we believe in Ukraine's future.

That is why we are creating the opportunity for a paid monthly subscription - Mind Club.

If you read us, if you like and value what we do, we invite you to join the Mind community.

We plan to develop Mind Club: the volume of materials and available services and projects. Already today, all club members:

  • Help create and develop quality independent business journalism. We will be able to continue to grow and improve the quality of our materials.
  • Receive an ad-free website.
  • Gain access to "closed" Mind materials (to the monthly issue in which we explore and analyze how entire industries work; to weekly analytical summaries).
  • Enjoy free access to Mind events for subscribers and special conditions for other Mind events.
  • Smart Power. Business owners who become Mind subscribers will gain access to an aggregator of systemic violations from Mind analysts and partners Cкажи.uа. If your business encounters issues with unscrupulous officials or competitors, we will analyze whether their behavior is systemic and together we can solve this problem.
  • We will continue to develop Mind and add useful journalistic sections and services for your business.
