Rescue workers in Mykolaiv demonstrated how local residents "dove into the hole" – although the hole itself was quite conditional, as the weather conditions did not allow the bodies of water to freeze.
Despite this, there were those willing to take a dip in the cold river water – rescuers were on hand to ensure safety.
“For the second consecutive year, Ukrainians are celebrating Epiphany according to the Julian calendar, specifically on January 6. To prevent emergencies and incidents, rescuers joined the efforts and monitored the safety of citizens in designated locations determined by the authorities.
In total, more than 20 rescuers were involved on 13 sites.
