The Cabinet has dismissed Klimenko from his position as deputy to Umerov.

This was previously announced by the Minister of Defense himself.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the order for the dismissal of Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenko.

This was reported by government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed Dmytro Olegovych Klimenko from the position of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine,” he wrote.

Recall that last week, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced the dismissal of his deputy and changes in the leadership of the Defense Procurement Agency due to issues related to arms procurement.

He stated that he submitted a proposal to the Cabinet for the dismissal of his deputy Dmytro Klimenko, and the Ministry of Defense also decided not to extend the contract with Maryna Bezrukova.

Dmytro Klimenko was appointed by the government as Deputy Minister of Defense for Procurement on October 5, 2023.

Previously, from 2022 to 2023, he served as the First Deputy Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, and later spent several months as the Commercial Director of the Joint Stock Company “Ukrtransgaz.”

Earlier, Mind reported that the Anti-Corruption Center submitted a statement to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, claiming that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov committed a crime as defined in part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Abuse of power or official position.”

According to activists, the Minister of Defense refused to implement the decision of the Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) regarding the extension of the contract with Director Maryna Bezrukova for another year. Umerov also dismissed two members of the Supervisory Board, Taras Chmut and Yuriy Dzhyhyria, who voted for this decision.
