Израиль обращается к США с просьбой о дополнительной поставке батареи ПВО THAAD.

Israel has requested the United States to send a second THAAD battery. This request was made ahead of a planned retaliatory strike against Iran.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing The Times of Israel.

Last Sunday, the Pentagon confirmed that Washington would send one advanced air defense battery to Israel along with American soldiers to operate it.

However, it was revealed today that Israel has approached the U.S. with a request to send another THAAD battery to protect the country in the event of a response from Iran to the Israeli counterattack.

THAAD is considered a supplementary system to the Patriot system, but it can protect a larger area, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 150-200 kilometers (93-124 miles).

Each battery consists of six launchers mounted on trucks, 48 interceptor missiles, and radar and radio equipment, which requires 95 soldiers to operate.

Recall that yesterday, on October 17, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was eliminated. Israel emphasized that he was responsible for the large-scale attack that occurred on October 7 of last year.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that evil "suffered a heavy blow". However, the task facing Israel, according to Netanyahu, "is not yet completed."

Yahya Sinwar became the new leader of Hamas after Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran on August 31.
