Hackers affiliated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine have targeted the services of Russian companies "Gazprom" and "Gazpromneft".

In particular, the online services of enterprises that support the operations of the Russian occupying army have suffered a cyber strike.
Since January 28, clients of the companies have been unable to access their personal accounts, use the company's online services, make fuel payments with fuel cards, or redeem or accumulate bonuses on their accounts, among other issues.
Representatives of "Gazprom" have responded to customer complaints by stating that there is a "temporary technical failure," but they did not explain the reasons behind it.
In the summer of 2024, the GUR carried out a large-scale cyber attack on Russia's financial sector. The attack lasted for a week, targeting Russian banks and government resources of the Russian Federation.
It was also reported that on the birthday of GUR head Kyrylo Budanov (January 4), the Ukrainian intelligence cyber group attacked the Russian company "RehionTransServis," which facilitates the operations of the Russian railway.
