The energy system of the unrecognized Transnistria could completely fail.

The maximum load in the region is 219 MW, while the energy production is only 154 MW.
Энергосистема непризнанного Приднестровья может полностью выйти из строя.

In the Russian-occupied Transnistria, the electricity deficit is approximately 30%. Due to the overload, there is a risk that the region's energy system could completely fail.

This was stated by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Energy of Moldova, Constantin Borosan, reports NewsMaker.

The maximum output of the Moldovan DRES and Dubossary HPP is 154 MW, while the maximum load in the unrecognized Transnistria is 219 MW.

“Managing this electricity deficit on the Left Bank of the Dniester is done by disconnecting consumers, street lighting, water supply systems, industrial zones, agricultural processing enterprises, and so on. If a sufficient number of consumers are not disconnected, there is a risk of complete system failure, as the distribution networks on the Left Bank are overloaded,” says Borosan.

Recall: in Transnistria, the Russian-occupied region of Moldova, heating and hot water have been disconnected. This occurred after the suspension of transit through Ukraine and Moscow's refusal to supply gas via alternative routes. It was previously reported that all industrial enterprises have halted operations. The reason for this is the energy crisis, as there is no energy resource available for the industrial sector.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that mass gas disconnections started in Transnistria on January 1, 2025.
