Funds for the construction of a water pipeline for Mykolaiv from the Dnipro River will be redirected
In Mykolaiv, the 25 million that was intended for the construction of a water pipeline from the Dnipro River will now be allocated for the building of a new filtration station for water purification.
This was announced by the head of KP "Mykolaivvodokanal," Boris Dudenko, during a session of the permanent deputy commission of the Mykolaiv City Council on housing and communal services.
According to him, due to military actions, it is impossible to use these funds for the construction of a new water intake on the Dnipro River. Therefore, it was decided to redirect them to the construction of a new filtration station.
-The funds amounting to, as already mentioned, 10 million are credit funds, and 15 million are grant funds from Denmark. Initially, this money was supposed to be allocated for the restoration of the water intake on the Dnipro River. But we all know the situation. Currently, it is impossible to carry out any work there. And when the time comes to conduct work there, no one knows. Now we have a proposal that we have sent to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as to our donors, to change this component to the start of the construction of a new water filtration station. We have the following information that by mid-November, a consultant will be selected at the bank, and he must approve this proposal. Therefore, this money will be directed towards the beginning of the construction of the new filtration station. This way, we aim to bring closer the timeline for the resumption of drinking water supply in the city of Mykolaiv, - said Dudenko.
