In the Kyiv region, authorities detained women who devised a scheme to profit from draft dodgers. The details were shared on January 27 by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
Law enforcement officials have charged two women with the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border. Investigators found that a 43-year-old resident of the region was seeking "clients" through social media who wanted to avoid mobilization and flee abroad. To do this, she created a Facebook page and posted relevant announcements there.
When a "client" was found, the woman promised to provide him with a certificate from the Medical-Social Expert Commission regarding disability status. The price for this "service" reached 18,500 dollars. The man agreed to the terms but learned about the duration of the process after paying the money.
For "insurance," the woman offered him a fictitious marriage. The "bride" had a disability, and an additional payment of 3,800 dollars was required for the marriage ceremony. Furthermore, the man was expected to allocate 10,000 hryvnias per month to his "wife."
Law enforcement officials uncovered the two participants in the scheme and arrested them after the marriage ceremony through the "Marriage in a Day" service. The individuals involved were the "bride" and the organizer, while other participants in the crime are being identified.
Now, the Ukrainian women face imprisonment of up to 9 years, along with a prohibition on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to 3 years, along with asset confiscation.
Recall that in the Lviv region, a woman won a lawsuit against "Ukrzaliznytsia" for 150,000 hryvnias. She was hit by a train while crossing the tracks in a hoodie and headphones.
Lawyer Daniil Goncharenko explained who among Ukrainians might be forced into mobilization until the age of 25.
