Belarus has deployed around 1,500 troops to its border with Ukraine, according to "Belaruski Hayun."

In December, Belarus redeployed military units to the border with Ukraine, which had been withdrawn in September-October 2024. The total number of these troops is approximately 1,500.

This information is reported by the monitoring group "Belaruski Hayun."

According to the group, in December, units of the Armed Forces of Belarus were moved to the border with Ukraine, which had previously been withdrawn from there in September-October.

The units were deployed to the Stolin, Lelchytsy, Mozyr, and Gomel regions of Belarus, specifically:

• 11th Separate Mechanized Brigade – to the Stolin and Lelchytsy districts;
• 120th Separate Mechanized Brigade – on the outskirts of the airfields "Zhyabrovka" and "Bokiv";
• 147th Air Defense Brigade – Battery of the "Osa-AKM" air defense system (location unknown).

"The exact timing of the troop redeployment is unknown. The number of troops sent to the border can be estimated at about 1,500 personnel," the report states.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Operational-Tactical Group "Seversk," Vadim Mysnyk, stated during a telethon that Ukrainian forces are monitoring the operational situation occurring at the border in neighboring countries.

"We have established a unified defense system along both the Belarusian and Russian borders, and we do not observe any drastic changes from Belarus," Mysnyk noted.

He also added that such exercises in Belarus took place last year as well, including numerous checks of combat readiness and training, when tens of thousands of Belarusian reservists were called to military units.
