The Minister of National Unity of Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov, stated that if refugees return to Ukraine, they will be exempt from mobilization if they secure employment in critical sectors. He shared this information in a comment to the dpa agency.
According to Chernyshov, Ukraine is currently in urgent need of workforce, particularly in the areas of arms production, energy, and reconstruction. Therefore, if refugees come back and find jobs in these economic sectors, they will not be drafted into the Defense Forces.
"If you work at a power station, you will not be called up to the army. You have a guarantee," Chernyshov asserts.
The official also added that a significant number of Ukrainian citizens are seriously "considering the possibility of returning home." This is why the minister visited Berlin, where he presented the "Unity Hubs" project, aimed at helping refugees find employment.
Chernyshov mentioned that those Ukrainians who choose to stay in Germany will also receive support, such as assistance with job searching or obtaining professional qualifications.
"They should not become a burden on the shoulders of the [German] government," the minister stated.
Earlier, it was reported that authorities would establish job search centers in Ukraine. According to Minister of National Unity Chernyshov, men will be encouraged to find work in the defense sector and contribute to the state.
Subsequently, it became known how many Ukrainians are in Ukraine and abroad. The government indicates that the number of Ukrainians abroad also includes those who left the country since the onset of the full-scale invasion.
