Vehicles for the Armed Forces are being sold, while humanitarian aid is rotting: a scandal with volunteers has erupted near Kyiv (video).

The individual suspected of large-scale thefts, referred to as a "volunteer," initially supplied vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the onset of the Russian invasion, only to later resell them. Meanwhile, these profiteers amassed tons of humanitarian aid, while the military received expired medications and food products.

A scandal is unfolding in the Kyiv region involving a woman who called herself a volunteer for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Humanitarian aid intended for the AFU was discovered scattered in a field near a recreation center in the Boryspil district, reports "TSN".

Activists state that the aid never reached the front lines, along with vehicles purchased by a charitable foundation with donations. The accused was reselling the cars.

During a court session, the wife of one of the defenders, who had been consistently sending money to support the army, asked the volunteer to look her in the eyes. However, the woman turned away, prompting another person to shout that she curses her.

The National Police of Ukraine informed "TSN" that in the Boryspil district, the head of one of the charitable organizations, along with the volunteer, organized a scheme for the illegal sale of vehicles brought in as humanitarian aid. The suspects were detained while receiving over $19,000, and they face up to seven years in prison.

Law enforcement officials state that the "volunteers" operated on a large scale: from 2022 to 2024, they imported over 680 vehicles into Ukraine. They processed the cars under a preferential procedure and registered them under the charitable foundation as humanitarian aid. Subsequently, some of the vehicles were sold in the Boryspil district.

The case's key figure is Irina V. Former territorial defense battalion commander Yaroslav Hodunok is also aware of her activities. During the Russian Federation's offensive on the Kyiv region, he was responsible for the area near the Boryspil bypass, where the territorial defense base was located.

"When the war receded from Kyiv region, we began to establish a drone school there. Then this woman, who called herself a volunteer, arrived. She said she wanted to create a rehabilitation center here. Initially, she did indeed help," the military explained.

However, within a year, the suspect in the embezzlement began providing expired food and medicines. The woman accumulated humanitarian aid.

"Tons of various goods were lying around: medicines, stoves, and more. Many questions arose, scandals began... We received information that humanitarian aid was being sold at the market with her involvement," he continued.

The story of the scandal involving humanitarian aid near Boryspil

The TSN report does not specify when the scandal occurred. It is evident that it refers to events in September 2024, when a massive "graveyard" of humanitarian aid was discovered in the vicinity of Boryspil.

Footage showed discarded food, medications, and other necessary items simply rotting on the street. The area was rented by the charitable foundation "Mavka," whose representative Irina Voytenko assured that volunteers and military personnel left their cargo for storage and for unknown reasons did not want to retrieve it.

"Sometimes vehicles break down, and someone cannot pick up the cargo. They can leave it with me and then come back to collect it," she explained.

We remind you that a volunteer from Sievierodonetsk, Yuriy Shyrokov, spoke about the terrible humanitarian situation in Pokrovsk. The city lacks water and heat.

The director of one company imported helmets and bulletproof vests under the guise of humanitarian aid and then sold them. The imported goods were sold in a store in Kyiv.
